A redevelopment of the Surbiton Hospital site is underway so that local people will be able to benefit from a new health facility in early 2013.
The new health facility is expected to be open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing services from four existing local GP practices and other care providers. Patients will be able to retain their relationship with their own GP and access more services and appointments, including walk-in urgent care.
In addition a two-storey building is proposed to the rear of the site, to take advantage of a south facing external play area. The two Form Entry Primary school will provide 60 places each year, to meet the long-term need for primary school places in Surbiton. This will include a 26 place nursery and provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
A central area between the two buildings will also act as a community area, proving an information desk and access for the local community to make use of rooms and facilities during certain hours.
Several consultations have been carried out with the local community, the results of which can be seen in the Consultation Statement which was submitted as part of the planning application and is available in the download box on the right of this page.
From the downloads box you can also access our briefing and Q and A documents for patients.
