Self care is about you knowing about your health and taking simple lifestyle steps to being healthier, including eating healthily, taking regular exercise and managing your own minor ailments as well as managing more serious conditions effectively.

Self care for long term conditions - join the Expert Patients Programme

Kingston runs a programme to help people living with long-term health conditions to take control of their lives, and to avoid their condition completely dominating their life.

The Expert Patients Programme is a free course and aims to help participants gain the knowledge, skills and support to effectively self-manage and live life to their full potential.

The programme covers topics such as:

  • Pain and fatigue management
  • Relaxation techniques
  • Healthy eating
  • Exercise
  • Physical activities
  • Planning & problem-solving
  • Medication
  • Better sleep
  • Communication skills and much more

We are also developing a chronic pain self-management course, the details of which will be made available shortly.
