The ‘Factor’ programmes healthy lifestyle and weight management programmes are aimed at children and young people aged 5-19 years old. Programmes are:

• free to attend
• held at various locations throughout the Kingston borough, including local schools and community venues
• aimed at supporting families towards a healthier lifestyle.

Parents and young people can self-refer to book their place on the programme, or referrals can be made through GP’s, school nurses, dietitians, family support workers or other health and care professionals.  Sessions for all the programmes below run weekly for a ten week period.

Fun Factor for five to seven year olds
Fun Factor is a free, healthy lifestyles programme aimed at all five to seven year olds, regardless of weight. They provide healthy lifestyle information through games, food tasting sessions and written information to help you and your family develop healthy habits. Children are asked to attend each session with a parent or carer.

Fwd Factor for eight to twelve year olds
Fwd Factor is a free, healthy lifestyles programme aimed at helping eight to 12 year olds who are above a healthy weight. They provide healthy lifestyle information including nutrition and physical activity through fun and games for children and parents. Written information is provided to support you and your families develop healthy habits. Children are asked to attend each session with a parent or carer.

4U Factor for 13 to 16 year olds
4U Factor is a free healthy lifestyles programme aimed at young people aged 13 to 16 years who are above a healthy weight. They include nutrition and physical activity workshops. Parents do not need to attend these sessions, and young people can attend on their own.

Factor for 16 to 19 year olds
We're developing this programme now. It will start in September 2015. You can contact us to reserve a space.
